Taku 'soldiered long and hard' to finish the British Grand Prix in 14th place after switching to the T-car following qualifying. Although he struggled to find pace in his SA07 at times, he did well when not caught up in traffic.

　 “ I struggled a lot with high-speed understeer due to the fact that we changed to the T-car chassis. Obviously as I started from the pits there was no lap to the grid, so we had to rely on the base set-up of the car. Unfortunately I lost quite a bit of time during the first stint until my first pitstop when we were able to adjust the front flap. Then in the second stint, once I was clear of the traffic, I was able to push hard and clocked some decent lap times. But in the end it was a very difficult weekend. ”

　 Taku will start from 21st position on the grid on Sunday after his final Q lap was spoiled by yellow flags.

　 “ We need to find out what was wrong with the car. It was not performing well and I never got comfortable grip or stability. It is disappointing as yesterday we made some progress and this morning we tried to improve the performance again for Qualifying, but the speed was not there. On my final lap I was trapped by the Yellow Flag, so I could not improve on my lap time, so I am disappointed. ”

　 Taku made a solid start to the British Grand Prix weekend, even though blustery winds and a green track made for difficult driving conditions. He completed his planned programme without any problems.

　 “ We had a lot of things to do today as we were not at the last Silverstone test. I believe that we completed quite a lot of things, including the normal tyre comparison. We went through our normal Friday running plus a bit extra and considering the really windy condition which made it really inconsistent corner by corner and difficult to judge the set-up difference, I think it was a positive day. ”
