RACE
Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson endured extremely hot and humid conditions to bring both Super Aguri cars home at the end of the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang.
Takuma Sato:“It was good to finish the race. The first and second stints were good but, then, in the second stint, unfortunately I picked up marbles through the high speed section, ran wide and lost a lot of time there. On almost every lap, we had traffic, especially during the last stint, so it was a pity that I couldn’t pick up the pace again until the very end. But it was good to see that the car was reliable and that we have collected a valuable set of data, so it was a tough, but good race for the team.”

QUALIFYING
The Super Aguri team enjoyed an encouraging second day at Sepang, as both Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson found a small improvement in pace ahead of qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Takuma Sato:“I think that the team did a great job again, under the circumstances. We showed good speed in the morning as I did qualifying simulation and I was happy with the balance. During my first run in qualifying, the grip level was quite low and I had traffic, but then, on the last run, I hooked up everything I needed and I enjoyed the lap. I will certainly try to make a good race tomorrow.”

PRACTICE
The Super Aguri F1 team had an encouraging first day at the Malaysian Grand Prix where, despite limited running, both drivers were able to complete their testing programme and will continue to work on pace improvement during FP3 tomorrow.
Takuma Sato:“It was another good Friday practice. Under the restricted mileage situation, we achieved most of the running we wanted. We had a little overheating issue, but we solved the problem on every outing and made steady progress. The car was starting to grip towards the end and we tried a few different set-ups. We come away from today with another good understanding of the car and, hopefully, we can work on improving our speed tomorrow morning before qualifying.”
