RACE
Although team-mate Anthony Davidson made it to the chequered flag at Indianapolis, Takuma Sato's USGP ended prematurely on lap 13, after he spun off while trying to make his way up the order.
Takuma Sato:“I had a difficult start to the race, and as a result, got overtaken by two cars. I avoided the incident at turn one and, lap by lap, I overtook people and made up a number of positions. That was a good moment but, unfortunately, when I got clear air and I really needed to push, I got on the dirty side of the track and I went off at turn three. It wasn't a great day for me but, hopefully, we can start again in Europe in a strong position.”

QUALIFYING
The Brickyard produced an exciting and close US Grand Prix qualifying session, but the Super Aguri F1 team experienced a difficult day in the garage. A small mistake by Takuma Sato and an extremely tight grid meant that he just missed out on making it through to Q2 to join team-mate Anthony Davidson, and will start the USGP from 18th position.
Takuma Sato:“ It was a very tough day. I wasn't fully happy with the car this morning, so we changed the set-up for the qualifying session. It was better, but there was traffic during my first run and, in the second, I went a little deep in turn one and locked up the front wheel, so I lost a good couple of tenths then. Sectors two and three were okay, but I needed another half a tenth to get into Q2. It's a shame, but hopefully we have a strong car and I'll have a good race tomorrow. ”

PRACTICE
Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson completed their planned testing programmes at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today. Following an engine and gearbox change for the Briton in the morning, both drivers were satisfied with the team’s performance and final track conditions at the historic ‘Brickyard’.
Takuma Sato:“ It was a good day. There was a problem with Anthony's car in the morning, so we had to change to a combined programme which was not what was originally planned. In the end, I think we got what we wanted to achieve and were able to evaluate the different wing levels and the tyres. It was normal, smooth-working Friday. ”
