RACE
It proved to be a difficult day for the entire Super Aguri F1 team at the French Grand Prix, with Anthony Davidson involved in a first lap incident and Takuma Sato encountering a number of issues but soldiering on to bring his SA07 home in 16th position.
Takuma Sato:“ I had a problem with my car which meant that I could not get a proper race start from the grid. The first stint was okay, but we lost a lot of time during my first pit-stop with another fuel rig problem. In the end, I just fought to finish my race, but we weren't quick enough. This was a tough race for us. Hopefully, things take a positive turn next week, but we need to be pushing for better performance now. ”

QUALIFYING
Sunshine and warmer temperatures welcomed the Formula One teams back to the Circuit de Magny-Cours on Saturday morning, but the mood was not quite so pleasant at Super Aguri F1 as both Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson fell victim to the track’s narrow pit-lane and subsequent traffic to miss the cut in Q1. Taku will now start the French GP from the back of the grid following his ten-place penalty from the USGP.
Takuma Sato:“ It was a tough qualifying. Everybody’s lap times were so close and we just couldn't make it through to Q2, which is extremely disappointing. We made some progress over the weekend, but it wasn't enough to reach where we wanted to be. I think tomorrow will be a very exciting race because I believe that our pace is relatively strong. I am starting at the back of the grid, but I will try my best. ”

PRACTICE
Takuma Sato made an encouraging start to the 2007 French Grand Prix weekend, with figuring out the Bridgestone tyre options proving to be the only major challenge of the day as Taku ran through his planned programme.
Takuma Sato:“ The day was quite interesting because the two tyre options behaved differently, so we need to analyse the large amount of data we were able to collect today. We also ran some new aero developments and there were a few good points from them. The car ran reliably and with no problems, so I think that it was a positive day. ”
